Artist bio: Kevin has been working as a self taught contemporary artist for over ten years using all available means to educate and expand his vocabulary in Modern Art. Starting in the late eighties Kevin began personal research and exposing himself to many forms of contemporary art. During that time he began to organize displays of his work at small businesses and events as well as entering competitions and art festivals - all with an array of success. In 1991, Kevin held his first solo and group exhibitions in a gallery. During the nineties, he continued exhibiting in galleries, museums, and juried shows. Since relocating to New York in 2004 Kevin has exhibited locally and internationally, in particular participating in a group show of other contemporary American artists in Singapore. He has been published in Vapors Magazine, Swindle Magazine,Ninja Magazine, and Asia Art News.  Artist registries include The Drawing Center, Artist's Space, and Art Battery Group.
Artist statement: I have been creating sociopolitical works on paper using primarily graphite for the last decade. I utilize a combination of photorealism, illustration and pop symbolism that results in a fragmentation of surface and reality. Using a visual narrative of contemporary societal complexities, it relies on juxtapositions such as technology/human nature, individuality/consumer culture, and superficiality/altruism. Both multi-layered in implementation and interpretation, I intend my art to deliver a message while retaining a sense of ambiguity for the viewer.
