Artist bio: Growing up in Chicago, I attended the American Academy of Art, The Palette and Chisel Art Club, and The Lyme Academy of Fine Arts .
After school,I continued painting and began to do mural painting and decorative work. Later, I began to work on historical restorations of large-scale decorations and murals, working on over twenty different projects, including three state capitals and three cathedrals.
In the last several years I've executed several large Richard Haas outdoor murals: two in Ft. Worth, Texas and one in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most recently I executed a mural in the dome of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Harrisburg, Pa.
In 2008 I completed work on the restoration of the Tiffany Dome at the Chicago Cultural Center, a mural cycle restoration in the Federal Appellate Court in Denver. I am presently working on mural restoration in the old Secretary Of War Suites in Washington, D.C.
I am a dual American/Italian citizen and live in Chicago where I exhibit regularly.
Artist statement: Murals are a way of taking art out of galleries and museums and giving them back to the people. A time honored way to enhance public space. A way to take back space into the public realm.

By working with various social groups and bringing them together, by developing skills and confidence, public art can be a tool to increase social and human capital.

By using public art to promote pride in a place, or as a badge for branding an area, or by attracting visitors, it can be a tool to increase trade, secure and create jobs.

By using public art to create habitats, raise
awareness, improve environments, even recycling waste, public art can even reduce environmental impacts.

About the work:
Title: Grand Rapids Mural

Art form: 2-D

Medium: Wall-painting, Mural

Year created: Work not created yet

Description of work: I was one of the principal artists with the artist team that painted 24 x 90 ft. mural at Cherry and Division In Grand Rapids. This was with The Dwelling Place.

What I am proposing is an over life size figure, painted on wood or other support to be mounted on a wall. The subject of the painting would either be a generic musician or a historical or celebrity with a Grand Rapids connection.

The artwork would be about 12 to 15 ft. tall and painted with acrylics on wood or masonry board attached to the wall with bolts or other hanging mechanism.

I am considering using either a famous person or a generic musician. In the work images area you will find two design sketches showing figures on a wall to give you an idea of what I am thinking of. The designs are still preliminary.

One celebrity I am considering is Lorna Gray, A.K.A Adrian Booth,a golden age B movie actress who grew up in Grand Rapids.
