On September 27th, in the heart of Grand Rapids, Monroe Ave. was shut down so that 100,000 post-consumer brightly colored airplanes could be launched from the rooftops of six major downtown rooftops.
At the same time down below, thousands musicians of all instruments, ages, and skill levels came together to play a single, beautiful melody in the streets as the sky and roads are filled with colored paper planes. Over 20,000 people joined together to be a part of this moment in time. A once in a lifetime event of brotherhood, a celebration of life and a reminder that we are all in this together.
All 100% post-consumer paper planes were taken home by children, and a 10 man cleaning company all helped leave this event spotless. |
