Medium: plastic army men

Description of work: Over 2000 toy army men are joined with hot glue to make up the form of a woman in the lotus position. The peaceful character of the woman is in stark contrast to the army men who apear to be shooting at eachother within the piece. The orange color mimics the paint color of the Golden Gate Bridge which is entitled international orange because the issue of peace is both on an interpersonal level all the way up to international.

Work statement: Peace is now here or Peace is nowhere, which is it. This is meant to be the question, not the conclusion to the issue of peace within the world and within ourselves.
