Work statement: Project Propagate is a regenerative installation created through the use of thousands of recycled and donated artificial flowers. Ninety-nine percent of the flowers were scavenged from a local memorial gardens maintenance pile. We have given the flowers a second life, and utilized them to bring back the life that once existed at the 2 East Fulton building. Project Propagate is a symbol of our hope that Grand Rapids will continue to thrive as a vibrant urban paradise.
We encourage you to look around the city and see the potential for rejuvenation that surrounds you, even in the most unexpected and familiar places.

The 2 East Fulton building was constructed in 1945 for Davenport College and was originally slated to be a six-story tall structure. The Art-Deco style building was later used for many years as the headquarters for Junior Achievement, an educational non-profit. Once a thriving center of learning and development, it now stands dormant with over a decade of vacancy. |
