Help for venues
Are you an approved venue? Download these materials from our venue workshop!
ArtPrize wants to help local venue owners participate in the event. With each additional venue, more artists can compete. We recognize it's a significant investment of time to host a venue. We'd like to assist you with any questions or problems you have about becoming an ArtPrize venue.
Please contact Dave DeBoer, head of venue relations, at dave@artprize.org with any questions.
Ideas to consider
- Venues should get a lot of foot traffic during the event
- You may sell refreshments, merchandise or find other ways to get entrepreneurial
- You may work out a portion of sales or winnings from artists in your agreement, you may not charge the public for viewing art
- Your venue profile is your face to the world, make sure it looks nice
- If you charge fees to the artist, make sure they're worth it to the artist
- There may be sponsors interested in hosting your venue
- There may be local artists willing to host your venue
- Volunteers may be available to watch your venue on certain days
- There may be colleges, fine arts centers or other non-profit organizations outside the boundary looking to host a venue
